England Fans Chat Tribute Game.

Update: Read the match report here.

The England Fans are staging a game in London against Spanish fans ahead of the International in honour of Robin Chatterjee. All details are below. His son Roy will be playing in the game, and the Robin Chatterjee Trophy will be awarded to the winning team.

Fans team relishing Spanish inquisition

The squad has now been confirmed for Saturday’s fans match with Spain which will be in remembrance of Robin Chatterjee.

As we reported on the englandfans website last month, the tragic news of Robin’s death was met with great sadness by the squad, and as a team they were determined to show their respect for a fellow englandfans member, therefore the decision was made that the game will now be played for The Robin Chatterjee Memorial Trophy.

A lot of interest has been generated within the membership and the opposition ranks in the build-up to the game, and a large crowd is expected to be at Wealdstone FC’s St. George’s Stadium come the 10:30am kick-off to cheer the Three Lions on. A large away crowd is also expected, so the team will really be counting on fellow members support.

Mike Bailey joins our bash!

The man most people still call skipper, and our first Honorary Member Mike Bailey and his wife Barbara have now confirmed that they will be attending the dinner on 22nd October, they join Matt Murray, Kevin Foley, John Gough and POTY winner Matt Jarvis at the event.

There’s still time for you, all are welcome tickets are £35 for members and £45 for non- members, accommodation at £60 per double or twin room including breakfast.

Email us on www.ddcwwfcsc@hotmail.co.uk if you want to attend.

Let’s all turn out for Matt’s match!

Next Sunday 9th of October sees the finale of Honorary Member Matt Murray’s testimonial with his testimonial game at Molineux. It promises to be a really great afternoon, with lots of famous faces taking part during the afternoon.

Matt will be playing in goal at Molineux for the last time, Mick McCarthy will be putting in a shift on the pitch. As will a great many of Matt’s team mates from his playing days, such as Paul Ince, Dennis Irwin, Jo Lescott, Paul Butler etc.

At half time there is also opportunity for fans to take three penalties at Jez Moxey, sorry against Jez Moxey on the pitch at Molineux.

Tickets are only £10 for adults and a fiver for kids or better value still is the family for 4 at only £20.

Go to Matt’s Testimonial website at www.mattmurraytestimonial.co.uk for all the latest news and details.

In his year as Honorary Member Matt has put himself out for us on several occasions, coming to our brewery get together, the Barbecue and helping to get Matt Jarvis along to our dinner to collect his award. Having got to know him and know how genuine and sincere the man is, we all should turn out on Sunday for his last hurrah.

We will also have some of Matt’s brochures available at our Dinner in case any of you missed out in getting one so far.

Newcastle Tickets now on sale

Please book online for next Saturday’s home game with Newcastle. 10 tickets available £34 each. Collect and pay in the Western.

Jarvo’s coming to the Dinner, & Mike Bailey too.

Good news everyone our Player of the Year and England International Matt Jarvis is coming to the Dinner on October 22nd. So is our very first Honorary Member Mike Bailey.

Thanks to good work by Honorary Members Matt Murray and Kevin Foley that Matt will join us at to receive his award, after the early kick off against Swansea. This makes three consecutive Dinners for Mike and his wife Barbara, and they are both good friends of this club.

We have a new venue this year Highgate House at Creaton in Northamptonshire, just a few miles South of the first junction off the A14, much easier to find than the Staverton and approximately an hour from Molineux.

There is a £10 discount for members following subs going up last season, and the prices are £35 for members and £45 for non members. This is upon for a 5 course dinner followed by speeches and presentations then a disco. Given we have an early kick off that day we can have an earlier start than usual which will give more time for the disco at the end.

There are plenty of rooms available these are £60 per couple including breakfast, with I believe an upgrade in the listed building also available request and at extra cost.

Honorary Members Kevin Foley and Matt Murray are also coming as is Honorary Member and Wolves Director John Gough.

All places to be reserved by paying a deposit (cheques to the DDCWWFCSC). Payment to be made in full ahead of the Dinner.

So post your payment along by cheque to Coxy.

Rekkah Maddison RIP

I am sorry to have to report that Rekkah Maddison died on Monday after losing her battle with cancer. Our thoughts are with Julia Maddison at this sad time. The funeral is at Northampton Crematorium at 2:45 on Tuesday 6th September.

Frank Munro RIP

I had a phone call a short time ago from Honorary Member John Richards informing me that sadly Wolves great Frank Munro has passed away after a spell of illness. Frank was a true Wolves great, and a supporter of the DDCWWFCSC,  attending our Dinners at Molineux when his health allowed.

Although confined to a wheelchair for many years he still attended many games at Molineux and knew all that was going on in the world of football as well as at Wolves. He was a fantastic and interesting man to talk to with plenty of tales to tell.

A hero for many of us of a certain age, a player of undoubted class who did not get the full international recognition his ability deserved winning 9 full caps and 4 under 23 caps for Scotland. He played 365 times for Wolves with 6 further substitute appearances scoring 19 times.

A true Wolves great. RIP Frank.

HAPPY NEW SEASON!

A big welcome to the 2011 – 12 season. Sorry if I’m a bit slow off the mark this season in getting going, but I’m here now and all set for the new season. Some things to impart on you all so that you know what’s what this season.

Firstly we are back up to 10 season tickets belonging to the DDCWWFCSC  this season, please book using the link below on the home page from 5pm on Saturday the week before the game takes place. So Fulham is on sale from 5pm on Saturday 13th August. Out tickets are in the J2 area of the John Ireland stand (near the North Bank end in the upper tier.

We have all only been issued with tickets for the first 2 games then the plan is to move most if not all of the people back into the North Bank. But the roof won’t be on until December!! No details of where or how yet, but watch this space. We have not seen a seating plan yet or know where they intend to put us, but if we can influence thing in our favour we will.

Subs for the new season are now due, I’ll be after you in the pub or ground as soon as I see you. Prices remain unchanged, full membership £10, OAP’s £5, kids & people in full time education £2:50.

Tuesday 23rd sees us playing at Cobblers in the League Cup, a bit of local interest for some of us, I hope we get a good turn out see you all in the Malt Shovel before and after!!
