The early-ish Sun kick-off for Mr Murdoch means a pre match pint in an 11am opener – hopefully!

The most likely is the Pride of Spitalfields, just off Brick Lane. A small free house with 4 or 5 beers, and Sunday roasts (time permitting!)

Tube is either Liverpool St or Aldgate East – both of these are also on the Metropolitan Line for Upton Park – although Aldgate East is served by the District Line as well, so more chance of a train there.

NB – check the tfl website for planned Tube engineering works – lots over this weekend!!

The Black Lion in Plaistow is also a possibility – albeit only opens at 12noon normally on a Sun unless starting earlier due to footie. 15 mins walk to ground, so def a “Home” pub.
