Cancer Research

Cheques to the value of £750 has been recently sent to Cancer Research on behalf of the DDCWWFCSC for the money raised through the auctions at the 35th Anniversary Dinner and a donation from Club Funds. This brings the total raised by the DDCWWFCSC  at dinners in recent years to £3,433. Well done to Phil Rogers and John Bates for their successful bidding, I know that Phil had a fantastic night at the Academy Dinner and was well looked after by Honorary Member Richard Skirrow.

Matt Murray – Our new Honorary Member

At the 35th Anniversary Dinner at Molineux Matt Murray was invited to become another Honorary Member of the DDCWWFCSC, and everyone was thrilled when he accepted. Matt is best friends with another of our Honorary Members Rob Edwards and I’m sure he’d heard a few things about us before the event.

Matt had earlier took part in a Q & A session with Wolves Director John Gough, and answered some thought provoking questions including details about his trousers in response to a question from Paul Robinson.

A full profile of Matt will appear shortly in our Honorary Members section of the website.

A big Thank You

A big thank you goes out to all of you that contributed to my fantastic gifts that I received at last night’s 35th Anniversary Dinner, you have all been very generous.

A special thank you to Trish, who I believe did the work of getting in touch with you all and collecting the money raised, then to Grubby for making such a wise choice.

As I know many of you know already one of the gifts was a mobile phone, so now I have no excuse for not having one! The number is 07580 339715, so now you can all reach me anytime!!

Thanks again everyone

Chris Cox

World Cup Winner steps in!!

Following Terry Connor’s late withdrawal on Wednesday Richard Skirrow has pulled out all of the stops and I’m thrilled to announce that Ron Flowers and his wife Yvonne are now joining us tomorrow evening. Ron is another Hall of Fame member along with Mike Bailey, Graham Turner and John Richards.

Dinner timings

If you are coming along on Saturday to our Dinner in the Hayward Suite at Molineux please note the times for the event. Arrive by 8pm for drinks and last orders at the bar are 1:00am, so taxis lifts etc. should be arranged for between 1:15 and 1:30am

Dress code is lounge suits and ‘posh frocks’ any vegetarians (other than Wendy) should either let me know in advance or the catering staff on arrival.

We will have lots of real ale on sale during the evening, please make sure it all goes! We are getting ale from both of our brewing members, Cluff aka Simon Yates will be supplying 3 barrels from the Banks’s stable, and Kevin Yelland will be providing 4 polypins from his brewery. Enjoy.

….And remember I don’t want any left!!

Sorry folks! Terry Connor has pulled out!

Unfortunately I’ve heard tonight that Terry Connor has pulled out of attending our dinner on Saturday. Due to the timing of this news it leaves no time to get a replacement, so one table of members will be without a famous name on their table for the evening. I’ll decide by a random selection which table misses out, so apologies in advance, from me at least, if you are on that table.

West Ham Tickets still on Sale!

As of Wednesday evening we still have 3 tickets left for this week’s game.

Book your tickets for next Saturday’s match with West Ham, now on the ticket section of the website. They are £34 each collect from the Western as usual

Help! I need some volunteers please

To help with various jobs on the Dinner day, both on the night and beforehand. There will be a couple of fund raising activities during the evening that I will need volunteers for, plus help in setting up the room before most arrive and possible help at lunchtime.

Please email me if you are prepared to help.

Thanks

Coxy
